The goal of the Childhood Illness and Injury Prevention Program (ChIIPP) is to reduce the number of preventable injuries, diseases, and poisonings among children under 14 years old through:
- Education
- Promotion of health and safety practices

- Educational materials and resources on child health and safety
- Car seat safety inspection referrals
- Child Passenger Safety Violator program
Program Staff
The program consists of a Senior Health Program Coordinator and a Health Educator. Staff participates in various meetings, including:
- Safe Kids Greater Sacramento
To Qualify
This program serves the following:
- Parents to children 0-14 years old
- Foster care parents
- Head Start Program and preschool staff
- Health care providers
- Emergency response providers
- Family Services and social workers
- Childcare providers
- Home visitors who work with families of young children
- Public Health Nurses who work with families of young children
