Child Passenger Safety

​​The goal of the Childhood Illness and Injury Prevention Program (ChIIPP) is to reduce the number of preventable injuries, diseases, and poisonings among children under 14 years old through:

  • Education
  • Promotion of health and safety practices

Services Provided

  • Public awareness campaigns
  • Educational materials and resources on child health and safety
  • Car seat safety inspection referrals
  • Child Passenger Safety Violator program 

Program Staff

The program consists of a Senior Health Program Coordinator and a Health Educator.  Staff participates in various meetings, including:

  • Safe Kids Greater Sacramento

To Qualify

​This program serves the following:

  • Parents to children 0-14 years old
  • Foster care parents
  • Head Start Program and preschool staff
  • Health care providers
  • Emergency response providers
  • Family Services and social workers
  • Childcare providers
  • Home visitors who work with families of young children
  • Public Health Nurses who work with families of young children​
