Sacramento County Health Authority Commission
Purpose
The Sacramento County Health Authority Commission (SCHA) shall serve the public interest of Medi-Cal members in the county, which includes striving to:
- Improve health care quality;
- Increase health care access and network adequacy;
- Better integrate the services of Medi-Cal managed care plans and behavioral health and oral health services;
- Promote prevention and wellness;
- Ensure the provision of cost-effective health and mental health care services;
- Reduce health disparities; and
- Ensure the operational well-being and fiscal solvency of the Health Authority
The Health Authority Commission is established by Title 2, Chapter 2.136, Sections 2.136.010 through 2.136.170, of the Sacramento County Code. All of the rights, duties, privileges, and immunities vested in Sacramento County pursuant to Article 2.7 of Chapter 7 of Part 3 of Division 9 of the California Welfare and Institutions Code are vested in the Health Authority.

The SCHA is currently seeking one Medi-Cal member to serve on the Commission. This person would be invited to share their experience navigating and receiving medi-cal services (including successes and challenges) and can serve as an advocate for improving access to and quality of care for all Medi-Cal members.
